What are the Course Hours?
Our seminars begin at 8:30am and concluded at 2:45pm. Lunch is on your own from noon to 1pm.
How do I register for a seminar?
You may register on-line at www.southwestseminars.com, via phone: 1-800-474-4112, fax: 281-482-3660 or mail at Southwest Seminars P.O. Box 890228, Houston TX 77289 Group discounts are available for groups of two or more registering at the same time.
What if I need special accommodations?
If you should need special accommodations, we will make every effort to accommodate you in accordance with the ADA law. Please contact us prior to the seminar.
What course materials do you provide?
You will be provided with a course handout at the beginning of the seminar. Video or audio recordings not permitted.
Will I get confirmation?
You will receive a confirmation card indicating you are registered. If you register within just a couple days of the event, you may not receive your card in time via US postal system. If you are unsure if you are registered for a seminar, please contact us.
What happens if a seminar is cancelled?
In the unforeseen event a seminar must be cancelled due to an act of nature or a catastrophic event, Southwest Seminars will issue a voucher for a future scheduled seminar.
How can I get a refund?
If you are unable to attend the seminar, you may get a refund. Refund request must be made in writing. Please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Southwest Seminars P.O. Box 890228, Houston TX 77289. There is a $15 cancellation fee. Please allow 2 weeks for processing.
I need a replacement certificate?
In the event you misplace your certificate, you may ask for a replacement certificate in writing. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request.
How do I get a receipt?
If you register online, your confirmation # with information is your receipt. You may also request a receipt during the break at the seminar. You may also request a receipt by calling or writing us.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cannot or did not attend a seminar, you may request a refund. Please see refund request for more information.
What if I can't be on time?
(Arriving late or leaving early) Please be on time. We do not issue partial credit. Certificates of Successful Completion are given at the conclusion of the seminar for attendees who sign in, attend the entire seminar, complete the self-evaluation test and turn in their program evaluation.
How can I send a substitute?
If you are unable to attend, simply send your substitute in your place. He/she may locate your name on the sign-in list and note "substitute", then sign their own name. A certificate of successful completion will be made for that substitute.
Do you pay parking fees or give hotel room discounts?
Some hotels charge a parking fee. Southwest Seminars does not pay parking fees. Southwest Seminars does not "block out" rooms or provide hotel discounts to seminar attendees.
Are meals included?
Meals are not included. Coffee is provided in the morning from 7am-9am.
What if I need to change my seminar date?
You are encouraged to remain in your pre-registered seminar. Our seminars fill up quickly. However, if in the event you can not attend your pre-scheduled seminars, you may change your seminar date. Email us at swsa.info@southwestseminars.com or call us at 1-800-474-4112.
Can my friend get a discount?
We provide discounts for groups of 2 or more registrants. If you are registering on-line, please provide all group names at one time and pay for them on one credit card. If later, you determine that another individual needs to be added to your original group, call 1-800-474-4112 or fax their registration information to add them. You will need to provide payment information for this individual. Please indicate whose group this individual belongs with. This will ensure that the group discount is applied to this individual.
Can someone other than a nurse attend?
On occasion, we have other professional disciplines wanting to attend our seminars. We do not provide any professional credits, contact hours or certificates for these disciplines, but you are welcome to attend. (need to add but you are welcome to attend)
Southwest Seminars Association, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
This activity meets Type 1 criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Provider approved by the Florida Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number FBN 50-5510.
All Florida nurses will receive a certificate good for 5 contact hours upon completion of the program.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 11362 for 5 contact hours.
All California RNs and LVNs will receive a certificate at the conclusion of the seminar.
